(in English) This paper presents a linearly dual-polarized dual-band and wideband multi-ring microstrip antenna fed by two L-probes with a cavity structure for a finite dielectric substrate. The proposed antenna consists of two ring patches and two L-probes arranged in a triple-layered dielectric substrate. Since the thick dielectric substrate is used for wideband operation, gain characteristics fluctuates with changes in the dielectric substrate size due to the effects of surface waves. In order to obtain stable gain characteristics for a large substrate more than one wavelength of the first mode, a cavity structure is introduced around the patches. It is revealed by the simulation that the cavity structure is effective for a substrate size more than 0.85 wavelengths of the first mode. Measured performance of the antennas with and without the cavity for the substrate size of 0.85 wavelengths of the first mode is also presented.
