A study of Enhanced CSK constellation optimization in Underwater SLIPT using Time splitting receiver

(in English) In recent years, underwater simultaneous light wave information and power transfer (USLIPT) has been attracting attenuation as wireless communication and power supply system using underwater visible light communication (UVLC) for the construction of flexible underwater wireless networks.
In this paper, color shift keying (CSK) is considered as a modulation method for USLIPT. Also, optimized CSK (OCSK) constellation is considered for UVLC channel and power supply control.
OCSK can achieve stable power supply by placing received constellation points so that total received current was always constant. However, the minimum distance between constellation points becomes shorter, resulting in worse BER performance. In this paper, EOCSK is proposed, which expands the signal constellation space by allowing the difference in the total received current value at each constellation point using the signal space enhancement coefficient $alpha (0leqalphaleq 1)$. We applied the EOCSK to USLIPT using time splitting (TS) receiver. In addition, we evaluated the BER performance and a coefficient of variation of the total received current (CV) in the USLIPT with EOCSK and USLIPT with an on-off keying (OOK) using TS receiver. As a result, the EOCSK can achieve better BER performance than the OOK and reduce the CV to less than one-half of that of OOK in case of $alpha$ is 0.5, the EOCSK symbol number M is 4, and the distance between transmitter and receiver is 50m.
