Measurement and Analysis of Local 5G network performance for Low-Latency Remote Camera Shooting

(in English) As aerial photography by drones becomes more and more popular, there is a need to realize a "remote camera" system. The remote camera system enables us to confirm the subject and operate the camera by a preview video over the network. Remote camera shooting requires low latency and high frame rate transmission of preview video to capture the subject accurately. However, we can not maintain a low-latency and reliable link in existing 5G networks because they are easily affected by other user traffic. Local 5G network is considered to supply the custom and independent wireless network to meet the requirement of such applications. In this paper, we conduct a detailed analysis of the delay factors that occur when we use remote camera shooting over the local 5G, measuring the one-way delay, and conducting a self-induced congestion test on preview video traffic. We will identify the potential one-way delay of local 5G and the impact of each UE's load on the preview video in local 5G. In particular, we show that the delay varies by periodicity of Scheduling Request resource and the throughput depends on the scheduling algorithm in the gNB.
