Multivibrator as Slow-fast Dynamics -- Basic Bifurcation Phenomena and Canard Solutions --

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Slow-fast dynamical systems are systems of ordinary differential equations involving different time constants.
Systems with slow-fast characteristics may have a characteristic solution called the Canard solution.
The evolution of the solution depending on the parameter change is interesting.
In this paper, we treat a multivibrator, which is a slow-fast dynamical system that can be easily implemented as an electronic circuit.
If the operational amplifiers of the multivibrator have dynamic output characteristics, the system behaves as a slow dynamics system.
We investigate the basic bifurcation phenomena that occur at the equilibrium point and the process of generating Canard solutions.
