Deep Learning Side-Channel Attacks for Rolled Architecture of PRINCE and Midori128

(in English) With the recent expansion of small autonomous mobile robots such as drones, cyber security for small devices is very important. PRINCE and Midori128 have been proposed as typical low-power block ciphers for small devices. On the other hand, side-channel attacks have been reported to illegally analyze secret keys by using power consumption during cryptographic device operation. As the accuracy of deep neural networks improves, the technology is also being used in the security field. Deep Learning Side-Channel Attack (DL-SCA), a method for efficiently analyzing side-channel attacks using deep learning, has been proposed. For secure implementation of PRINCE and Midori128, it is important to evaluate tamper-resistance to DL-SCA. Therefore, This study evaluates the tamper-resistance of DL-SCA for PRINCE and Midori128, which are loop architecture implementations on Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA).
