Data Contamination Determination Methods in Topology Estimation Technology Using Traffic Data

(in English) Telecommunication carriers operate their networks. When a failure occurs, they use the network configuration information to quickly identify the location of the failure, the service impact of the failure, and the impact of the restoration work. For this reason, the authors have proposed a topology estimation technology using traffic data to update configuration information accurately. However, in commercial networks, data corruption, such as missing data and counter-shift, occurs during traffic data acquisition, reducing the accuracy of topology estimation technology. It is necessary to manually observe the data to detect the contamination and perform data cleansing.
In this paper, we propose two methods for detecting data contamination that causes inaccurate estimation in topology estimation technology and reports the results of an evaluation of the proposed method using commercial network data.
