In the 5th generation mobile network (5G), many small cells will be deployed. In order to aggregate to traffic flows from them, it is desirable to link them with optical access networks using PON technology. Conventionally, mobile networks and optical access networks have been operated independently, and no specific co-operating architecture has been determined. Therefore, we have promoted researches focusing bandwidth assignment as one of traffic control functions. Then, we have proposed the lightweight bandwidth assignment algorithms for this purpose. In this report, we describe implementation of these algorithms and clarify operations in real systems. The proposed algorisms can be applied to various PON schemes that accommodate 5G systems, and their application scenarios are also presented. |
