Performance Analysis of a Link Symmetry Confirmation Method in Backoff-based Opportunistic Routing

(in English) Backoff-based opportunistic routing autonomously selects a forwarder based on a random backoff time using hop counts. However, it does not work correctly in environments that include asymmetric links since it requires bidirectional communications between a source and a destination. To solve this problem, a confirmation method of link symmetry and destination reachability has been proposed. However, it can confirm them for only one terminal in single end-to-end packet transmission. In this paper, we propose a fast confirmation method of link symmetry that can confirm the link symmetry of multiple terminals in single packet transmission. Finally, we reveal the performance by using computer simulations.
