This article provides an account of the collaborative research efforts between several international groups (in Europe, Asia and North America) in the domain of millimeter-wave vehicular communication. Channel sounding campaigns conducted under different vehicle-to-everything (V2X) scenarios, such as intra-vehicle (InV), vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I), are described. The experimental data obtained are analyzed and used for subsequent modelling of V2X wireless channels. Finally, the lessons learned during the sounding and modelling phases are applied in developing internationally accredited standards. |
