Fabrication of picoliter droplet of non-Newtonian viscous liquid

(in English) A novel device for fabricating picoliter droplets has been developed that can be made highly viscous liquids into droplets about 30 micrometers in diameter. Using this device, we can generate droplets of aqueous solution of glycerin with the viscosity of about 200 mPa・s, which is 10 times that of commercially available printer ink. In addition, we succeeded in generation of droplets of paint which is a non-Newtonian liquid.
