Prototyping of a Random Number Generator Using Magnetic Domain Images Shinichiro Mito (NITTC) CPM2022-14 |

A random number is widely used in the information technologies such as security, simulation, and deep learning. With the development of information technology, a faster and more convenient physical number generator is required. The magnetic domain of the magneto-optic materials is a promising phenomenon as the noise source of a random number generator because its shape is chaotically generated at a high repetition rate (~GHz) and easily digitized by commonly used image sensors at high speed. In this study, a small magneto-optic random number generator that utilizes the magnetic domain as the noise source is prototyped and evaluated. The prototyped device is 150mm×80mm×90mm in size and generates the random numbers which passed the statistical test (NIST SP800-22) at 3Mbit/s. |
