Mobility Control considering Internal Interference for Ad Hoc Networks with Autonomous Mobile Robots

(in English) We proposes a travel route control and relay control method that improves QoS (throughput) in a system where multiple autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) communicate with the network edge using a wireless LAN ad hoc network. Since bandwidth is shared among communication terminals of each AMR in an ad hoc network, as the number of relay hops increases, the transmission opportunities of each terminal decreases, and the throughput of the entire system decreases. To solve this problem, the proposed method controls the travel path of each AMR to its destination by considering the beamforming transmission radio wave direction of each terminal. As a result, interference between AMR terminals is reduced and simultaneous transmission of data from multiple AMRs becomes possible. With the proposed method, a 70% improvement in throughput was achieved compared to a routing control that did not take beamforming into account.
