A Study on Compressed Sensing Based Power Allocation and User Selection Scheme Considering Channel State in Downlink NOMA, Part2

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Downlink non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) systems with successive interference cancellation requires an effective user paring strategy that assigns proper user-pair to the same resource block. The authors have proposed a quality-of-service (QoS)-aware low complexity compressed sensing (CS)-based user pairing and power allocation scheme for downlink non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) systems, where the tolerable interference threshold constraint is mathematically designed to achieve a given QoS requirement. Based on the fact that selecting a user-pair among all users is treated as a ‘sparse’ situation, joint user selection and power allocation problem is relaxed to $l_1$ norm optimization problem under a QoS constraint based on the tolerable interference threshold, which can be solved by general CS algorithm. In this paper, We investigate two adaptive resource block (RB) selection algorithms, i. e., two-step opportunistic resource block assignment (TS-RA) and Max-min resource block assignment (Mm-RA) and evaluate their achieved performance in terms of average user rate for comparison. . Simulation results show that the proposed scheme with TS-RA is effective in improving user-rate compared with other reference schemes even when each RB is affected by independent fading while the QoS requirement is approximately satisfied as long as the required QoS value is feasible.
