Method to identify excess or deficiency strokes in the automatic handwriting input Kanji scoring system

(in English) I have been developing a system for automatically scoring handwritten input kanji characters, and is using it practically at the university where I work. In this automated scoring system, strokes of input glyphs and strokes of standard glyphs used for scoring are accurately matched by a method called "order distance" proposed by the author. In this paper, I report a method to identify the missing (or extra) stroke for incorrect input glyphs with too few (or many) strokes. In this identification process, each kanji character is divided into parts such as radicals using the kanji structure information database, and a part with excessive or insufficient strokes is extracted, and the connection relationships of the strokes at that part are examined.
