This paper considers the pull-type security patch management policies for intrusion tolerant systems. A composite stochastic reward net (SRN) is used to describe the adversary's attack behavior and the system's reactive defense strategies. We obtain the underlying Markov regenerative process (MRGP) from the composite SRN and formulate the stationary solution of the MRGP using phase expansion. Particularly, this paper discusses the effect of the change in checking interval on the system availability. |
