[Poster Presentation] Performance Analysis of Regularized FOCUSS Algorithm in Joint DOD and DOA Estimation Using Bistatic MIMO Radar

(in English) Joint DOD (Direction of Departure) and DOA (Direction of Arrival) for targets using bistatic MIMO radar have been recently investigated. MUSIC and ESPRIT, which feature a high angular resolution, have been used as the estimation algorithm in those radar systems. On the other hand, compressed sensing with an array antenna has been receiving attention for estimating the DOA of the radio waves. Compressed sensing can estimate the DOA using a smaller number of snapshots than conventional high-resolution methods. However, it requires much computation time due to iterative operation. In this study, we use R-FOCUSS (Regularized Focal Undetermined System Solver), one of the compressed sensing algorithms with fast convergence, in the bistatic MIMO radar to estimate the DOD and DOA of targets jointly. Through computer simulation, we analyze the performance of R-FOCUSS in doing joint DOD and DOA estimation.
