Heart Rate Variability analysis during posture change

(in English) Employee health management is essential to improve the work environment. In this study, the physical loads caused by differences in sitting and standing postures was compared and evaluated in terms of cardiac autonomic nervous system activity; heart rate variability and R-R interval were measured during a sitting-to-standing postural change (standing load test) in healthy young subjects at two facilities. The authors compared frequency, time-domain, and tone-entropy methods to analyze heart rate variability. Our results showed that the increase in heart rate and the decrease in the entropy of heart rate variability were observed at both sites when the subjects moved from sitting to standing. The results of the standing load test suggest that the tone-entropy method is a stable and accurate method for measuring and evaluating physical strain caused by differences in posture.
