In this study, we designed an extended data recording system to validate the onset timing to grab a target object in the grasping task with three different shapes for ERD/ERS analysis of Electroencephalography (EEG). We have examined different grasping motions depending on target shapes, which may cause differentiation in ERD/ERS signal tendencies; however since the onset timing was derived from the beep sound to instruct the subject to start the motion, the exact motion onset which has a synchrony with EEG patterns is inaccurate. In the new experimental setup, start and end timings in grasping was successfully monitored by pressure sensors attached in individual targets, we consider that the grasping-timing detection will improve and contribute to an increase of the accuracy level of the analysis for clear discrimination of grasping hand movements using ERD/ERS signal tendencies . |
