Transmission performance of 4K high-definition real-time video streaming signal using a Local 5G system

(in English) For the local 5G uplink, we created an environment in which packet errors can be stably and deliberately controlled by adding a load to the transmission path, and conducted 4K high-definition video transmission experiments. As a result, with respect to RTT, when there is no load and the decoder cache time is 0 ms, both RTP and SRT are about 40-90 ms larger when using a local 5G transmission path compared to Ethernet. Also, when there is no load and the decoder cache time was increased from 0 to 300ms, the RTT did not increase as it was, and the increase was only about 150-200ms for RTP and 210-220ms for SRT. Furthermore, when the decoder cache time is increased from 0 to 300ms under heavy load, RTP increases about 100-140ms and SRT increases about 200-330ms, revealed that the increase in SRT became large. In addition, as a result of data rate for streaming video / frame rate in decoding output and image quality subjective evaluation, there is no difference between the two at no load / non-overload, indicating that RTP is superior to SRT from the viewpoint of RTT.On the other hand, it was revealed that SRT is a better video transmission protocol than RTP in terms of continuation of video playback, although a constant value of RTT is required under heavy load.
