This paper reports on the display of workbooks on electronic paper, collection of digital-ink answers, and description of correct answer examples toward automatic scoring of handwritten answers. InkML is used to record handwritten answers. Questions and correct answer examples are associated with handwritten answers. We also present challenges of describing correct answer examples to a variety of questions for automatic scoring and prospects for collecting handwritten answers. Recently, the use of PCs and tablets in education has been expanding, but the questions depend on the device's display and input method, which differ from paper-based textbooks. The questions in the latter have been refined to grade learners' understanding and problem-solving abilities but scoring them is labor and time-consuming. Therefore, we aim to establish automatic scoring for such question types. |
