Verification of Timing Extraction Operating Principle for Realizing High-Precision Synchronization in Optical TDM Transmission

(in English) We aim to increase in number of the optical paths per wavelength by applying optical time division multiplexing (TDM) technology to transmission networks. In order to establish multiple paths based on optical TDM networks, a high-precision synchronization method to reduce the time intervals between signals is required. We proposed a method to achieve high-precision synchronization method for optical TDM transmission by physically extracting the arrival timing of the synchronization signals embedded in data signals. In this paper, we clarify the requirements necessary to realize the timing extraction method in physical layer for high-precision synchronization through verification experiments.
