[Short Paper] Impact of Statistics Interval on Walking Direction Estimation with Low-Frequency CSI Acquisition

(in English) Among technologies on Channel State Information (CSI) sensing, device-free human body sensing has attracted much attention due to its wide range of applicability. Examples of device-free human body sensing include human walking tracking and walking direction estimation, and these prior methods require the acquisition of CSI at high frequencies above 100 Hz in order to be applicable. Therefore, in situations where sensing and communication are used together, high frequency CSI feedback overhead may degrade throughput. To solve this problem, we proposed a walking direction estimation method that can be applied even when the CSI acquisition frequency is low. The method uses the moving standard deviation of the received signal power gain as human gait information that can be extracted from CSI with a low acquisition frequency. The human body state is then classified into three values: stationary, approaching, and receding. In this paper, we further experimentally evaluated the impact of parameters used in the method on the accuracy.
