Impact of Channel Estimation Error on Antenna Selection Using Simulated Annealing for Distributed MIMO Systems

(in English) Distributed MIMO systems, which have been considered in recent years, use a very large number of base station antennas, resulting in a significant increase in interference signal power.
To overcome this problem, a technique called antenna selection has been proposed. It selects antennas with poor communication characteristics from a base station, and suspends them to suppress interfering power while efficiently utilizing transmit power.
In this paper, in order to investigate the effectiveness of antenna selection, we performed pre-coding using pseudo-annealing antenna selection in an indoor environment, where the constant movement of the user causes errors in the estimated channel matrix.
The throughput characteristics were also compared with those of the existing method MMSE pre-coding in a similar environment.
The results showed that the throughput characteristics were significantly degraded when the MMSE method was used, and only slightly degraded when the antenna selection was used. The throughput characteristics of the antenna selection were almost equal to those of the MMSE method.
Therefore, if the channel matrix is variable, the antenna selection is expected to provide sufficient communication characteristics.
