Proposal of Watermarking Method with Magnification Ratio Estimation Using Pilot Signal

(in English) Resistance to attacks is required for watermarking methods.Conventional methods used error-correcting codes and spread spectrum to correct errors in the watermark.Also, embedding in the frequency domain and using SIFT feature points have been used to reduce errors.If the type and intensity of the attacks are identified, errors can be further reduced.There are several types of attacks, including scaling, rotating, clipping, etc.It is necessary to develop resistance to different types of attacks.Thus, we focus on the scaling resistance of watermarks and propose a method to estimate the magnification ratio using a grid of pilot signals.As the stego-image is magnified or reduced, the grid interval of the pilot signal also changes.Thus, the magnification ratio can be estimated from the grid intervals.Therefore, we propose a watermarking method introducing a pilot signal into the method using SIFT feature points and the DFT domain.At extraction, the watermarks are extracted using the magnification ratio estimated by the pilot signal.The accuracy of the magnification ratio estimated by our method was evaluated in terms of the relative error of the ratio.The bit error rate of watermark was compared between the proposed method and the cases where the magnification ratio was either unknown or known.The results showed that the proposed method could reduce the errors of the watermarks by the estimated magnification ratio.
