Influence of Data Hiding in EtC-Image Classification with Vision Transformer

(in English) A privacy-preserving image classification method with the vision transformer (ViT) was proposed in which the accuracy of image classification can be the same as that without any encryption, even when encrypting test images and models. In this paper, the influence of the data-hiding process is evaluated in terms of the classification accuracy so that we assume that a third party embeds arbitrary information into test images encrypted by using an encryption-then-compression (EtC) system (hereafter, EtC images). Simulation results show that the classification accuracy with data hiding slightly decreases but nearly the same as that without data hiding. We also discuss the compression performance of marked EtC images.
