A Study on Selective Fixed-Filter ANC Using 2D-CNN with Sliding DCT input

(in English) In this paper, we propose a Selective Fixed filter Active Noise Control (SFANC) system using 2 Dimension Convolutional Neural Network (2D-CNN) with Sliding Discrete Cosine Transform (Sliding DCT) input. The proposed method speed up the switching of noise control filters in SFANC systems by using sliding DCT as the input preprocessing of noise signals to the CNN. Since the sliding DCT can be recursively converted to a frequency domain representation, it is expected to be faster than the short-time Fourier transform (STFT), which has been used for signal preprocessing in acoustic class classification. A similar technique is the Sliding Discrete Fourier Transform (Sliding DFT), but compared to DCT, it requires an additional operation of taking absolute values to convert real numbers to complex numbers. The classification accuracy of the CNN with
sliding DCT is comparable to that with spectrogram, and the preprocessing time required for noise control filter selection is about 0.0058 ms for the sliding DCT input SFANC, which is about 1/240 of the spectrogram input SFANC.
