Relay Node Selection Method for UAV Routing in Wireless Multi-hop Network

(in English) Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) routing methods using networks composed of wireless multi-hop devices have been studied. When all nodes in the network are used as relay nodes for UAV, the number of hops in the route increases, and frequent messages are exchanged. In addition, it is assumed that unexpected collisions will occur on the links due to the complex intersections of links. For this reason, a node that does not have a relay function for UAV is selected, and the node without a relay function is treated as an end node. The routes of UAVs are constructed using nodes other than end nodes. For the selection of relay nodes, we propose a method that determines relay nodes randomly, a method that determines relay nodes based on the number of neighboring nodes, and a method that uses the MPR of the OLSR as a reference. For each method, we evaluate the degree to which the number of relay nodes can be selected. After selecting the relay nodes, the routes are constructed and the number of relay nodes, the total distance of the constructed routes, and the concentration distance are checked to see how much they have changed. The characteristics of each method are clarified, and it is evaluated which method can construct a network that is suitable for UAV's travel routes.
