This paper proves one of the properties in terms of gradient descent method and gradient flow. For unconstrained convex quadratic programming problem, the stepsize maximizing the stability of numerical method based on Runge-Kutta method for gradient system is identical to the optimal stepsize for discrete gradient descent method known as Chebyshev step. |
