Can Metaverse Create Effective and Effectual Education/Learning Environment?

(in English) The objective in Metaverse is to construct another activity space virtually, different from our real space, and also make the activities of human beings effectual and effective, as the main scope. To establish that the actions in the virtual space keep the same or similar meanings and results as those in our real space is necessary that the mechanism, functionality and rules for individual activities with respect to the senses of values should be shared equally between the virtual space and the real space, and also that they should be safely managed. Metaverse intends to focus on our social activities and/or economical activities from such a viewpoint and develop them constructively. As one of the applications, the education/learning field is looked on as a candidate. This paper discusses the possibility of Metaverse’s usability for education/learning field. Especially, we must pay a large attention to the fact that the identical person in the real space cannot always acquire completely and/or directly the effects of avatar’s performance, which was done with their best efforts in the virtual space.
