A coaxial to waveguide transition is used when signals are transmitted with low loss. When a large power is input to the coaxial to waveguide transition, heat is generated at the tip of the central conductor of the coaxial line inserted in the waveguide. This generated heat cannot be dissipated and the central conductor can become hot and burn out. In this paper, we proposed a 2/8-way waveguide power combiner with a 1/4 wavelength line. The one end of the 1/4 wavelength line is connected to the tip of the central conductor of the coaxial line inserted in the waveguide, and the other end of the 1/4 wavelength line is connected to the wall surface to improve heat dissipation. A frequency band in which a return loss is 20dB or more is 34.8% in the proposed 2-way waveguide power combiner. A frequency band in which a return loss is 20dB or more is 24.4% in the proposed 8-way waveguide combiner. We have confirmed that the proposed power combier has the same characteristics as the conventional power combiner. |
