Research on V2V communication system in platooning

(in English) Multi-channel assignment plays a crucial role in realizing ultra-reliable and low latency transmissions for vehicular platooning communications. The state-of-art studies use response signals such as ACK (Acknowledgement) to reduce packet loss, which is apt to cause an increase in delay. In this paper, we propose an enhanced Fixed Assignment based Window Access scheme with Diversity and Success interference cancellation (FAWADS). This scheme aims to optimize the successful packet reception and transmission latency for platooning vehicles on highways without involving response signals. In particular, a Fixed Assignment based Window Access with Capture (FAWAC) is adopted to enable a flexible adjustment of the degree of random access and fixed allocation by changing window size. Moreover, a frequency/time diversity mechanism is also designed to increase the probability of successful reception. Meanwhile, a Successful Interference Cancellation (SIC) technique is performed at the receiver side to mitigate the interference caused by multiple packets transmissions using the same resource block. We evaluated the performance of the proposal by jointly measuring the Bit Error Rate (BER), Packet Error Rate (PER), and Packet Inter-Reception (PIR). The results show that all three mechanisms are significant to improve the expected performance under the optimization of various parameters.
