Radio-Controlled Vacuum Cleaner as a Learning Material for Binary Relationships

(in English) With the declining birthrate, the number of children and students receiving special-needs education is increasing every year. The types and degrees of disabilities, such as physical disabilities and intellectual disabilities, vary widely. This study is concerned with the development of teaching materials that contribute to the formation of dichotomous relationships in classes such as independent activities for students with intellectual disabilities in special-needs schools. Specifically, we are trying to clarify the design requirements of a robot vacuum cleaner that can be controlled wirelessly by operating a button, so that the students can be interested in the wireless object and engage with it proactively using a switch in their hands. In this presentation, we report on the operation verification of the developed system.
