Real-time and high accuracy weather prediction is essential for building a safe and secure society. For example, disasters caused by local weather conditions, such as local heavy rain and wind, can be prevented by understanding weather conditions and taking measures in advance. On the other hand, the computational cost of high-precision weather prediction processing requires a significant amount of computation time. This is a problem to realize real-time weather prediction. Therefore, to overcome this problem, we developed CReSS, which is a weather prediction simulation SW for massively parallel computers, for GPU clusters. GPU is widely used such as machine learning and AI. We evaluated the processing speed using a single GPU and confirmed the speedup ratio about 14 times that of the CPU. |
