Twofold Signed Graph Learning for Multimodal Graph Signals

(in English) Multimodal signals measured by multiple sensors distributed in space may be spatially smooth and show both positive and negative correlations among modalities. Such multimodal signals can be represented using twofold graphs that represent two different relationships in spatial and modality directions with two graphs. In this report, we propose a method to learn a twofold graph where one graph represents spatial smoothness of the signal and the other graph represents the (anti-)correlation across modalities. We formulate a convex optimization problem that takes into account the smoothness of the signal on the spatial graph and the similarity/dissimilarity of the signal on the modality graph. The problem can be solved efficiently by a primal-dual based algorithm. Experimental results present that our proposed algorithm can learn the underlying twofold graph from multimodal signals.
