Spoken dialogue system using emotional information of user's facial expressions

(in English) In recent years, with the improvement of spoken dialogue systems, many systems using spoken dialogue as an interface have become popular. However, one of the challenges of spoken dialogue systems is that users are reluctant to talk to machines. It is also known that not only verbal but also nonverbal information is important in human conversation. Therefore, we constructed a multi-modal dialogue system that responds to the user's facial expressions by using the emotional information of the user's facial expressions, and verified the usefulness of the system. As a multi-modal dialogue system, we constructed a dialogue control system with two types of inputs: the user's voice and emotional information obtained from the user's facial expressions. The dialogue control section controls the 3D model and the voice of the model. Furthermore, a subjective evaluation of the system is conducted, and it is shown that this system is effective in reducing the sense of mechanics.
