SB-SPS Resource Management Scheme to reduce transmission delay for Relay Transmissions in Platooning with Sidelink Communications

(in English) In C-V2X (Cellular-Vehicle to Everything), one of the key technologies for intelligent transportation systems (ITS),sidelink communication for vehicle-to-vehicle direct transmission is standardized, and the SB-SPS (Sensing Based Semi Persistent Scheduling) scheme is employed for its resource management. On the other hand, vehicle platooning is one of typical usecases for C-V2X, where the following vehicles are autonomously following the lead vehicle. In order to maintain the platooning,it is necessary to periodically share the information for the lead vehicle with the entire platoon, and relay transmission within
the platoon employing sidelink communication is considered as one of the sharing means. However, the SB-SPS scheme isdesigned for broadcast transmission, and then, for relay transmissions in platoon, it may cause large transmission delay for end to end communication from the lead vehicle to the tail end vehicle due to forwarding delay at intermediate relay vehicles. This study investigates the impact of SB-SPS resource management on the transmission performance for relay transmission in vehicle
platooning using C-V2X sidelink communication, and proposes an enhanced SB-SPS scheme to improve the performance.
