Intermittent chaos is a one of nonlinear dynamics of a semiconductor laser with optical-feedback. Intermittent chaos consists of a laminar state with a small amplitude and a burst with a sudden and rapid increase in amplitude. It is important to predict the occurrence of such sudden phenomena before they occur. In this study, we perform time-series prediction of intermittent chaos in semiconductor laser using reservoir computing. We also evaluate whether the prediction results can be detected the occurrence of extreme events. |
