Pose Estimation for Human Wearing Loose-Fitting Clothes -- Creation of Training Data Using HFR Camera and Multiple LEDs --

(in English) The analysis of human movements using Pose Estimation techniques is becoming more and more popular. We aim at Pose Estimation for snowboard big air athletes. In this competition, athletes wear loose-fitting clothing. In this situation, it has not yet been verified whether existing human Pose Estimation techniques can provide accurate Pose Estimation or not. One of the reasons for this is that the joint positions are unknown. When clothing is tightly fitted to the body, it is relatively easy for a human to visually confirm joint positions. However, in the case of loose-fitting clothing, the relationship between the shape of the clothing and the joint positions can change due to the swaying of the clothing. Therefore, this study proposes a method for acquiring joint positions in loose-fitting clothing. The proposed method uses a high frame rate camera and a fast blinking LED. Using the proposed method, we clarify the accuracy of joint estimation in existing Pose Estimation techniques, and verify the feasibility of using the data acquired by the proposed method as training data.
