[Poster Presentation] Proposal for a Distributed Metaverse Domain Allocation Considering Digital Twin

(in English) For constructing and utilization large-scale virtual spaces, including digital twins (DTs), it is expected to build a distributed metaverse. In the distributed metaverse, multiple multi-access edge computing (MEC) servers are used to construct each sub-metaverse to distribute the processing load and achieves low-latency synchronization. Since this distributed metaverse is constructed by integrating sub-metaverses constructed for multiple partitioned regions, the environment synchronization time between sub-metaverses affects the overall performance. In addition, the real-time performance of DT is degraded if the difference between the delay of real environment and that of virtual environment is large. In this paper, we propose a domain allocation method that takes into account distributed submetaverse and DT. The proposed allocation method divides the target region into grids and determines which MEC server is allocated to each grid. This determination is performed by deriving the solution of the optimization problem those objective function minimizes the maximum sub-metaverse environment synchronization time. The performance of the proposed method is evaluated, and it is shown that the proposed method reduces the sub-metaverse environmental synchronization time.
