Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Identification of modulation schemes in wireless signals is a crucial technology for analyzing the status of wireless communications in the fields of cognitive radio and radio wave monitoring. Statistical processing of signal waveform amplitude and phase components has traditionally been employed; however, deep learning identification methods have been explored recently. Methods based on deep learning rely on prior learning, where the input is the signal waveform to be discriminated, while the output is the outcome of the discrimination process. This technique can differentiate between modulation schemes without requiring any features. However, if there is a difference in center frequency between the identified signal and the learned signal, the accuracy of the estimation is reduced. In this paper, we present a new method of center frequency estimation utilizing deep reinforcement learning as an initial step in identifying modulation schemes. The agent responsible for frequency estimation receives rewards based on the results of modulation scheme identification, and autonomous frequency correction is performed via reinforcement learning. Computer simulations indicate that the proposed method can increase the rate of identifying modulation schemes by at least 1.5 times in an environment with 10 modulation signals with center frequency errors.
