Optimization of Base Station Coordinated Virtualized Cell MU-MIMO Canceller according to the Accuracy of Channel Estimation

(in English) In mobile communication systems such as 5G, ultra-high-speed data transmission anywhere within a cell is expected. In cellular systems, which the same frequency is repeatedly reused in all cells, communication quality deteriorates due to adjacent cell interference, especially near cell boundaries. The authors have proposed an interference cancellation technique near cell boundaries that simultaneously uses a virtual cell MU-MIMO canceler and adaptive beamforming to cancel adjacent cell interference by forming a virtual cell in which neighboring base stations cooperate with each other, and have shown that it can significantly improve communication quality. In previous studies, interference cancellation weights were calculated based on the assumption that all channel responses can be ideally estimated using SRS or other methods. In reality, however, the estimation accuracy of the channel response, especially between cells, deteriorates due to the effect of the arrival timing gap of the SRS and other factors. If the channel response is used to calculate the interference cancellation weight, the interference cancellation effect will be degraded. In this study, we propose an algorithm to optimize the weights according to the estimation accuracy of the channel response.
