Loop Transfer Function of Digital Voltage-Mode Multi-Cycle Controlled Converters

(in English) SMPSs can be made smaller and lighter by increasing their switching frequency. However, it is generally difficult to realize high-frequency SMPSs using digital controllers. In a digital controller, the control outputs are updated at every switching cycle. Therefore, if the switching frequency is higher than the computation capacity of the controller, control cannot be achieved. In recent years, multi-cycle control has been proposed as a method to solve this problem, in which the control outputs are updated every multiple switching cycles. However, the dynamic characteristics of this multi-cycle controller have not been researched before. Thus, in this paper, we take a trailing-edge controlled Buck converter as an example and verify the open-loop transfer function by comparing it with the dynamic characteristics obtained using simulation in the form of Bode diagrams.
