This paper implements several proposed features using the CFAR algorithm, then constructs a concise decision tree model and discusses a method for detecting infants in passenger vehicles. The decision tree model is constructed by approximating the machine learning model to overcome the black box structure of machine learning. Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave - Multiple Input Multiple Output (FMCW-MIMO) radar, a type of millimeter-wave radar, is used for detection in passenger vehicles because it is low-cost, non-contact, and insensitive to external factors. The data acquired from the radar is preprocessed to extract features. The previous method proposed to detect the presence or absence of infants at each seat using an approximate decision tree model with about 70 different features as input. This method was simplified and faster by building the tree model, but the number of features remained large and difficult to interpret. To solve this problem, this paper outputs a visualizable point cloud using the Constant False Alarm Rate (CFAR) algorithm. Then, the approximate decision tree model is constructed using these features, and the accuracy is compared with conventional methods to further improve interpretability. |
