Implementation and Evaluation of a Hyperglycemia Control Support System Considering Both User Preference and Blood Glucose Level

(in English) Continuous self-management of environmental factors, including dietary habits to prevent postprandial hyperglycemia is essential.Previously, we proposed a framework for dietary behavior change that involves real-time monitoring of blood glucose levels, predicting postprandial hyperglycemia from planned meals, calculating foods that should be reduced in intake, and presenting the results to users. However, the optimal calculation method for selecting foods and quantities to induce behavioral change while maintaining meal satisfaction for preventing postprandial hyperglycemia remains unclear.To realize the proposed framework, it is necessary to establish calculation methods for recommended intake of each food and evaluate the satisfaction of meals when applying these recommended intake amounts.
In this paper, we set multiple recommended intake calculation methods and conducted satisfaction evaluation experiments for each.We presented images of meals before and after applying recommended intake, asking participants to evaluate satisfaction using crowdsourcing. The results showed that users who preferred the calculation method that prioritized the number of items and the amount of food showed the highest satisfaction with the meals to which that method was applied, compared to other calculation methods. And, it indicated that the importance of meal quantity as a constituent element of satisfaction.
