Under the coexistence of multiple BANs (BAN: Body Area Network), the mesh network of BANs has been in thelimelight. In addition, because of the expectation of increasement in data transmission for BANs, communication quality, which affects data transmission, becomes even more important. To improve communication quality, user mobility control is one of the good methods, which can improve communication quality by moving users. However, Intra-BAN and Inter-BAN are trade-off relationship depending on distance, which must be considered for mobility control in a mesh network of BANs. Therefore, we propose a mobility control method that comprehensively improves the throughput of Intra-BAN and Inter-BAN by moving the user to a location that minimizes the amount of Intra-BAN and Inter-BAN overflow in the trade-off relationship depending on distance between BANs. In our evaluation, the proposed method achieved throughput improvements of 1.41 to 2.0 times compared to the conventional method, depending on the traffic. Furthermore, compared to the case where the distance between BANs was adjusted to achieve the maximum transmission rate, an improvement of up to 22% was achieved, demonstrating the effectiveness of the proposed method. |
