(in English) It is said that talking on a cell phone while driving is more dangerous than talking with a person in the passenger seat, and it is hypothesized that this is because attention moves between the near and far spaces of the driver's body when using a cell phone. To verify this hypothesis, we used a VR driving simulator environment, set up a gazing point, controlled the position of attention, and changed the position of the sound source while performing a peripheral detection task. The results showed that when the eccentricity of the visual stimuli in the peripheral detection task was high, the reaction time was longer when the attention moved between spaces than when it did not.
