Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In this study, we investigated a method for extracting anatomical and physiological information about healthy and dysfunctional animals from the neuroscience literature using a large language model (LLM). This approach aims to contribute to the exhaustive accumulation of brain information flow (BIF), which is the basis for Brain Reference Architecture (BRA)-driven development. In particular, we focus on the design of effective prompts and report on the extension of prompt content to allow the extraction of physiological experimental results in addition to anatomical descriptions. Experiments confirm that prompt design incorporating Few-shot Learning achieved high descriptive excerpt consistency and descriptive accuracy in extracting information from the neuroscience literature. This suggests new possibilities for the exhaustive accumulation of anatomical and physiological information needed for BRA-driven development. This study demonstrates the effectiveness of utilizing LLMs and emphasizes the importance of prompt design. This is expected to lead to more sophisticated information extraction in the study of brain-based software design.
