Research Trends in 3D Foot Scanning for Health Assessment -- Aiming to improve the Ashiken Foot Printer --

(in English) Diagnosis feet by a specialist such as a doctor or reading of the skeletal structure of the foot by x-ray or CT scan are effective methods to determine the health status of children's feet, but they require skilled specialists and expensive equipment. In contrast, Saku University has developed and operates the "Ashiken Foot Printer" but it still depends on the skill of the measurer. In this study surveyed research on foot 3D scanning and analyzed the contents of 74 research papers. As a result, we found research significance in developing an inexpensive pediatric foot 3D scanning system that does not depend on the skill level of the measurer.
