Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In recent years, underwater simultaneous light wave information and power transfer (USLIPT) system has attracted attention as a method of energy harvesting and communication to underwater drones used in underwater resource exploration.
In underwater visible light communication channel, the optimum wavelength band with low degradation is different depending on the water quality changing by chlorophyll concentration.
Therefore, this study focuses on the enhanced optimized color shift keying (EOCSK) modulation scheme, which can adaptively support changing water quality by using multi-color transmitters for USLIPT.
However, a path loss model that considers the wavelength variations in underwater communication channels has not been considered, and the effect of wavelength on the harvested energy in USLIPT has not been evaluated. In this study, we construct a multi-color channel model corresponding to the wavelength variation by Monte Carlo simulation. In addition, using this channel model, we evaluate the effect of selecting transmitted light color on the energy harvesting performance for USLIPT using a power splitting receiver. As a result, using two-color (red-green) transmitters can increase the energy harvesting ratio compared to using three-color (red-green-blue) when the distance between the transmitter and receiver is 10 m and the total transmitted current is constant. Also, using multi-color transmitters can reduce attenuation due to the water quality degradation and maintain energy harvesting compared to the pulse amplitude modulation (PAM) scheme using single color.
