| (in English) | Information gathering via Internet, such as web browsing and social networking, is widespread, and the demand for information gathering support from recommender systems is growing. In addition, news information is often disseminated on the Web before it is published on television or in newspapers. In our previous research, we developed a system to support the retrieval of tourism-related information by utilizing user gaze information during Web searches and recommending tourism-related search terms that reflect user preferences [1]. In this research, we believe that this method can also be applied to news information collection, and have developed a system that, based on the user's gaze while browsing the Web, captures text and image elements of the Web page being browsed, and then uses natural language processing technology to recommend search terms that are useful for acquiring relevant news on topics of interest to the user. The development of a system for recommending keywords that help the user to obtain related news according to the topics of interest to the user has been developed. | |
